Install and use your travel eSIM

Install before departure while you have reliable internet, after checking your plan’s activation rule. Select it for mobile data when you reach its covered destination. Installing the profile and starting the plan are different steps.

When should I install my travel eSIM?

Install with reliable internet before departure, after checking your chosen plan’s activation rule. Installing a profile does not prove that mobile data works. Follow the instructions for your destination and order.

Install on your intended phone

Check that the phone supports eSIM and has no carrier lock. Open its installation email on a stable connection; a payment receipt alone does not contain the setup details. Keep the installed travel line labelled and follow the selected plan’s rule before enabling it.

Open iPhone / Samsung / Pixel installation steps ↓

Check your destination before enabling data

A regional plan may connect in a covered home country or during a stopover. Check every stop and the exact coverage list before switching it on. Do not assume an internet exit country is covered.

Open destination coverage and arrival guidance →
Already bought a plan or cannot install?

Use your order’s instructions first. If installation fails, keep any saved eSIM profile and check the installation help before paying again. Do not post or send your QR or activation code in a public message.

What do you need help with?

Choose your situation for Italia: before purchase, during installation or after arrival. Check your own order’s instructions first; buying again does not repair a wrong setting.

I have not bought an eSIM yetPhone, data allowance and your usual number

Will it work on my phone?

Check the exact model and where it was sold, eSIM support and carrier lock before buying. A model name on a list alone is not confirmation. If you need your usual number too, check that both lines can stay active.

Check my phone before buying

Which plan fits my trip?

Check travel dates, every stop and data use including hotspot. Read the total allowance, validity and exact coverage of current plans. A regional plan can start at a covered stopover.

Check my destination’s current rules and plans

Do I lose my usual number?

Current OrientPass data plans do not replace your home number. First check whether both lines can remain active. Your home provider confirms SMS availability and charges for that line at your destination.

Check my SIM combination
I am installing my eSIMMissing email, installation or offline preparation

Paid, but no installation email?

Check the email address used at checkout, including spam, then reopen your checkout’s order-status link. A payment receipt is not the installation email. If the details are still missing, contact us before paying again.

Check the mailbox and order status

The QR code is on this phone. What now?

You do not have to scan your own screen. While connected to the internet, use a supported same-phone installation method or the manual details provided with your order. The available method depends on your phone and software.

See installation options for one phone

My eSIM QR code will not scan. What should I try?

First check whether the travel eSIM is already in your SIM list. If it is absent and scanning does nothing, use a clear copy of your installation QR code or the manual details in your OrientPass email.

Troubleshoot a QR code that does not scan

My iPhone still says “Activating”. What now?

Before you reach the plan’s coverage area, “Activating” can mean the travel line is waiting for a supported network. Check whether the eSIM is saved. The message alone proves neither a failed purchase nor a working connection.

Check by your current location

Which SIM is my travel eSIM?

The travel eSIM may have a generic name, not “OrientPass”. Confirm the profile before renaming it. A missing phone number does not by itself mean installation failed: our travel plans provide data, not a new number.

Identify and name the travel line

It says the code is already used. Should I buy again?

Check your SIM settings first: the eSIM may already be installed. Do not delete an existing profile or keep rescanning its code. If it is absent, was removed or was installed on another phone, follow the matching troubleshooting steps before another purchase.

Check the installed, missing or deleted profile

What should I save before boarding?

Save the arrival instructions while you have internet and open the saved file once to check it. Keep your order reference and installation details accessible privately. Saving a QR image alone does not install an eSIM; installation needs an internet connection.

Save my destination’s installation backup
I have arrived at my destinationNo data, a different Wi-Fi connection or missing SMS

Installed, but nothing loads?

Check your own order’s exact coverage and validity. Select the travel line for data and follow its roaming instructions. Briefly turn Wi-Fi off and try two webpages. If everything stays offline, use Wi-Fi to get help and keep the profile.

Check my connection and next steps

Does only Wi-Fi or only mobile data work?

Wi-Fi and the travel eSIM are separate connections. A brief test with Wi-Fi off uses your plan data. If only Wi-Fi fails, ask its operator. If mobile data fails, check your travel line and order instructions; do not buy another package just for that.

Check my existing travel line and order

Internet works, but my bank code is missing?

A bank code sent to your home number does not arrive through a data-only plan. Check that your home line is enabled and registered on a network. Ask its provider about missing ordinary texts; if only bank codes fail, check the registered number with your bank.

Check whether both lines can stay reachable

Your arrival steps, even without internet

Save this small text file before departure and open it once in your phone’s Files or Downloads app. It contains the arrival settings and connection checks below; no app, account or personal details are needed.

Save offline arrival card (.txt) ↓

Before boarding, open the saved file with Wi-Fi and mobile data off. A bookmark is not an offline copy. If your phone opens the text in a browser, use Share or Save to Files; alternatively, save screenshots of the expanded card.

Cannot save the file? Copy the arrival card

Copy the arrival card into a note you can open offline. Copying alone does not save it: paste the text, save the note and check it with Wi-Fi and mobile data off before you leave.

  1. Open a new note in an app that can keep notes available offline. Paste the full card, including the support address and limitations at the end.
  2. Save it with a recognisable title. Keep private QR codes, activation details and your order reference separately; this public card contains none of them.
  3. Before departure, turn Wi-Fi and mobile data off briefly and reopen the saved note. If it will not open or is incomplete, reconnect and save the text again, or use screenshots of the expanded card. Restore your previous connection settings afterwards.

This page cannot check whether your notes app saved an offline copy. It does not send the card or create a backup automatically. Installation, support email and online links still need internet.

China arrival · mobile data checklist

Before leaving
  1. Install using a reliable internet connection after checking your plan’s activation rule. Check that the travel line appears in phone settings and give it a recognisable name.
  2. Save your private installation email, order reference and any plan-specific APN details separately. Keep QR and activation codes private.
After landing in a covered destination
  1. Turn airplane mode off. Enable the installed travel eSIM and select it for mobile data. Enable data roaming for this travel line if your installation instructions require it.
  2. Keep data roaming on your home line and automatic mobile-data switching off. If you need home-number texts, leave that line enabled; home-carrier roaming and call charges still apply.
  3. Turn Wi-Fi off in phone settings and try opening a website. This uses the travel plan’s data. Signal bars alone do not prove that internet is working.
If it does not work
  1. No signal: check destination coverage and that the travel line is enabled. Turn airplane mode on briefly and then off, or restart the phone; allow it to reconnect.
  2. Signal but no internet: recheck the mobile-data line, travel-line roaming, remaining allowance and validity. Use only the APN in your own installation instructions; do not copy another traveller’s settings.
  3. Only one app fails: try another website. The app, account or routing may have regional restrictions; buying a larger allowance does not remove them.
  4. Do not delete the eSIM to troubleshoot. Use available Wi-Fi to contact support with your order reference, phone model, location and a description of the problem. Do not send QR or activation codes in public.

Email when you have a connection: orientpass@hotmail.com

You can email at any time; this is not an immediate-response guarantee. Sending email and opening online guides require internet.

This card cannot install or activate an eSIM offline. Keep your private installation email and order reference separately. Plan-specific activation and APN instructions always take precedence.

Check the connection after landing

2. At your covered destination

  1. Choose the travel data line

Enable the installed travel eSIM, select it for mobile data and follow its data-roaming instructions. Keep home-line data roaming and automatic data switching off.

    Find my dual-SIM settings →
  2. Try mobile data, not airport Wi-Fi

Turn Wi-Fi off briefly and open a website. A saved eSIM or signal bars alone do not prove that mobile data works.

    If the test fails →
  3. Keep the profile if it fails

Use the connection guide with available Wi-Fi. Do not delete the eSIM as a troubleshooting step: reinstalling may not be possible.

    Connection help →
Will installing before my flight use up my eSIM days?
It depends on the selected plan’s activation rule. Installation downloads the profile; some plans start at installation and others at the first supported network connection. Read the rule and activation window in your own plan before installing.
My China eSIM has no signal at home. Should I delete it?
A China-only plan cannot be expected to connect outside its covered destination. Keep the installed profile and check the plan’s coverage. If it still fails in a covered destination, use the connection guide instead of deleting it.
Can I install the eSIM without internet?
No. Installation needs an internet connection. Save the instructions before departure so you can read them offline later. The downloaded checklist contains public setup advice, not your private eSIM profile or activation code.
Can I read the arrival instructions without internet?
Yes, if you save the offline arrival card before departure. Open the downloaded text file once with Wi-Fi and mobile data off to check it. The card contains general settings and troubleshooting, not your private activation details. Installation, contacting support and online links still need a connection.
Cannot save the file? Copy the arrival card
Copy the arrival card into a note you can open offline. Copying alone does not save it: paste the text, save the note and check it with Wi-Fi and mobile data off before you leave.
Guidance reviewed

Airalo and Holafly also explain pre-trip installation and arrival settings. Their instructions do not define the start rule for your OrientPass plan. Exact daily-allowance reset times are not covered by this guide.

After China: how do I switch back to my home SIM?

Turn on your usual SIM and select it for mobile data. Once it works, turn off the travel line. You do not need to delete the travel eSIM to return to your normal plan.

Still in transit? Check that your home plan covers your current country before using its data. Being back in Europe does not by itself confirm your roaming allowance.

iPhone
  1. In Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data, open your home line and enable Turn On This Line. Select that line under Cellular Data.
  2. Open the travel line and switch Turn On This Line off. Keep the profile installed if you may still need it.

On iOS 26 or later, switching back may happen automatically depending on the country or region. Check the selected line rather than assuming it changed.

Unsure which profile is the travel eSIM? Identify it first →
Samsung Galaxy
  1. Open Settings → Connections → SIM manager (or SIM card manager). Enable your usual SIM. Under Mobile data, choose that SIM; check the Calls and Messages selections separately where those options are available.
  2. Once your usual line works, select the travel eSIM and turn its switch off. Stop there: Remove deletes the profile and is not needed to switch back. Keep the home line enabled.

Menus vary by model, software and sales region. If your screen differs, use Samsung’s instructions for your exact model. If the home line is missing or has no service, ask its carrier; buying another China data plan does not restore your home number.

Unsure which profile is the travel eSIM? Identify it first →
Google Pixel
  1. Open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs. Enable your home SIM and choose it for mobile data; check calls and texts separately.
  2. Select the travel SIM and turn off Use this SIM. Some Android versions call this menu Mobile network. Do not choose Erase eSIM just to stop using it.

Menu names vary with Android version. On another Android phone, use its SIM manager and the manufacturer’s instructions.

Unsure which profile is the travel eSIM? Identify it first →

Check the result

When you are within your home plan’s coverage, briefly turn Wi-Fi off and open a small webpage. Check which line supplies mobile data, then restore Wi-Fi if wanted. If the home line still has no service, contact its carrier; deleting the travel eSIM is not a repair for the home account.

Keep it switched off or remove it?

Another covered stop before the plan expires
Keep the profile. Confirm coverage, remaining allowance and validity for the next stop before relying on it. A saved eSIM profile is not proof that its data plan is still usable.
The trip is finished and you will not use it again
You can leave the travel line switched off. If you want to remove it, first identify the correct profile using your installation email and confirm that you no longer need it. Keep your home SIM and order reference.
Already deleted it, or unsure which line is which
Contact OrientPass with your order reference, phone model and what happened before buying again. Recovery needs an order-specific check; we do not promise either that every deletion is reversible or that every deleted eSIM is lost forever.

Switching a line off is a phone setting, not a request to pause or extend your purchased plan. Check the expiry for your order; do not count switched-off days as extra validity.

Ask about my existing eSIM →

If your previous plan no longer covers your dates or needs, the live China plans below show current allowances and validity. A new purchase is a separate eSIM order; OrientPass does not currently offer self-service top-ups.

Planning another China trip? Compare current plans ↓
Do I have to delete my China eSIM when I get home?
No. Select your home SIM for mobile data and switch the travel line off. Remove a profile only after identifying it and confirming that you no longer need it. If it was already deleted, ask OrientPass to check your order before buying again.
Can I save unused travel days by turning the eSIM off?
Do not treat switching off as a pause service. It changes the phone setting, not the purchased expiry. Confirm the remaining allowance and validity for your order before planning another trip.

Il tuo telefono è compatibile?

Find your model, then check your phone’s region and carrier lock before you buy.

Can my phone use a travel eSIM?

Your phone needs eSIM support and must be carrier-unlocked. Check the exact model and its regional version before buying. Keeping your usual number active also requires a supported dual-SIM combination.

  1. Check the exact phone

Use the model search below, then check the manufacturer’s regional notes. A familiar model name alone does not confirm every version. Look for an Add eSIM option in your phone’s mobile-network settings.

What if Add eSIM is missing?
Check the exact model number and country of purchase with the manufacturer. Ask whether that version supports a third-party travel eSIM. Do not buy a plan just to test compatibility.
    Return to my answers ↓
  2. Check for a carrier lock

On iPhone: Settings → General → About → Carrier Lock. “No SIM restrictions” means unlocked. A screen passcode or SIM PIN is a different thing.

Android, or the iPhone status is unclear?
Ask the carrier that supplied the phone to confirm it can use another provider’s eSIM. For a locked iPhone, only that carrier can arrange unlocking; OrientPass cannot remove the lock. Finish this before departure.
    Return to my answers ↓
  3. Keep your usual number available

If your home number already uses eSIM, check whether your exact phone can keep it and a second eSIM active together. Storing several eSIMs is not the same as using them simultaneously.

    Check my SIM combination ↓
What should I ask my carrier?
“Can this exact model use my current SIM and a travel eSIM together? Will my number receive SMS at my destination under my contract?” Check availability and charges separately. Do not delete your home eSIM to make room.
    Return to my answers ↓
Can my home SIM and a travel eSIM stay on together?

Check the combination, not just eSIM support. A physical SIM plus eSIM and two active eSIMs are different capabilities. Saving several profiles does not mean they can stay on together. Do not delete your home eSIM.

First find your home line in Settings: iPhone → Cellular/Mobile Data; Pixel → Network & internet → SIMs. If you cannot tell whether it uses a physical card or eSIM, ask your home provider. You do not need to share an IMEI, EID or QR code here.

My usual number uses a physical SIM card
  1. Check that your exact regional phone has a SIM tray and supports a physical SIM plus an eSIM at the same time. Keep the home card in place; adding a travel eSIM does not require removing it.
  2. Confirm this combination with the manufacturer and check the carrier lock. A phone without a physical SIM tray needs the two-eSIM check instead. Do not convert or replace your home line just to test a travel purchase.
My usual number already uses eSIM
  1. Check explicitly for two eSIMs active together. Apple lists iPhone 13 models and later for this combination; check regional restrictions. An Add eSIM button or a list of saved profiles alone is not confirmation.
  2. Google lists Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro and later for two active eSIMs if the carrier allows it. Confirm your exact device and carrier combination; this is not a promise for every Android phone.
Only one eSIM can stay on, or I am unsure
  1. Stop before buying if you need your home number reachable at the same time. When its line is off, do not rely on ordinary mobile-network SMS reaching it. A data-only OrientPass plan does not replace that number.
  2. Ask your manufacturer or carrier whether both lines can remain enabled on your exact regional model. If not, arrange a supported alternative for essential account access before departure. Do not delete a profile or buy another eSIM to solve an active-line limit.

Return to the purchase check below: choose “Yes, confirmed” for simultaneous lines only after confirming the combination. If unclear, choose “Not sure”. Choose “I do not need both lines active” only if that matches your travel needs.

Return to my phone check ↓

Two enabled lines do not guarantee simultaneous calls, SMS delivery, bank verification or free roaming. Your home provider controls its availability and charges at your destination. This guide does not inspect or change your phone. Current OrientPass plans remain subject to their own coverage and activation rules.

Official sources and scope

Reviewed 21 October 2026. Manufacturer instructions take priority for your exact model, regional version, software and carrier. Competitor compatibility guidance was cross-checked; no exclusive capability or hands-on handset test is claimed.

Which exact phone version do I have?

Find the model name for our search and the model number for the manufacturer’s regional check. These are different: a matching name in the list does not verify your individual phone.

iPhone: find the model number
  1. Open Settings → General → About. Note the Model Name for the search below.
  2. Next to Model Number, Apple initially shows a part number. Tap it to reveal the model number. Use that number when checking the regional specification with Apple.
Apple: find your model number ↗
Samsung Galaxy: find the model number
  1. Open Settings → About phone (or About device). Find the model number; older devices may put this under Status.
  2. Use the model name in our search. Keep the full model number for Samsung’s specification or support check; menu names can vary by device.
Samsung: find your model number ↗
Return to my answers ↓
Imported, refurbished or bought second-hand?
Ask the seller which market the phone was originally sold for. Ask the manufacturer: “Does this exact model number and regional version support a third-party travel eSIM?” Where you live or the language of your phone is not confirmation. If the version remains unclear, wait for confirmation before buying.

Do not paste an IMEI, EID, serial number or eSIM QR code into our search. It matches model names, not model numbers or personal device identifiers.

Search by model name

What should I check before buying?

Answer from your phone settings or confirmed manufacturer/carrier information. If you have not checked, choose “Not sure”. This tool does not inspect your phone.

Check the model and regional version using the guidance above.

A screen lock or SIM PIN does not answer this question.

Check your actual SIM/eSIM combination. Multiple stored profiles alone are not confirmation.

Start with the three checks

Choose an answer for each question. Read the instructions above if you are unsure; do not buy a plan just to test your phone.

Your choices stay in this page, are not saved or sent, and reset when you leave or change language.

Does an unlocked phone always support eSIM?
No. An unlocked phone can still lack eSIM support. Check both the carrier-lock status and the exact model’s regional eSIM specification before buying.
Should I share my IMEI or eSIM QR code in the model search?
No. Search by model name only. This search does not need an IMEI, EID or installation code. Keep your eSIM QR code private.
Does the pre-purchase check automatically verify my phone?
No. It uses your answers about eSIM support, carrier lock and simultaneous lines. It does not read your phone, IMEI or EID, and does not guarantee activation. Confirm uncertain details with your manufacturer or carrier before buying.
My model name is listed. Can I buy a travel eSIM now?
First confirm the exact regional version with the manufacturer and check for a carrier lock. Our list searches model names; it does not validate model numbers or inspect your phone. For an imported or second-hand device, ask the seller about its original market. Buy only once the required checks are clear.
My phone is not in the search results. What next?
No search result does not prove your phone is incompatible. Check the brand filter and model name, then confirm the exact regional version and carrier lock before buying.
Sources and review date

No IMEI, EID or serial number needed here. Search stays on this page.

How to check an unlisted phone

No search result does not prove your phone is incompatible. Check the brand filter and model name, then confirm the exact regional version and carrier lock before buying.

  1. Search the model name from Settings, such as iPhone 16 or Galaxy S24. Leave out colour, storage size and shop descriptions. This search matches model names, not model numbers, IMEI or EID identifiers.
  2. Still no match? Use the exact model and sales region to check the manufacturer’s eSIM specifications. Confirm carrier unlocking separately. Choose “Not sure” in the purchase check until you have an answer.
Find my exact model and regional version →Open the full supplier reference ↗

A match is a reference entry, not approval of your particular phone. Do not choose a similar model or buy to test compatibility. Search text stays on this page and resets when you leave or change language.

Paid, but where are my eSIM installation details?

Check the email address used at checkout, including spam, then reopen your checkout’s order-status link. A payment receipt is not the installation email. If the details are still missing, contact us before paying again.

This general guide cannot check an individual order. Choose the message you actually see; if you do not have the private status link, use the help below. These steps describe the current OrientPass checkout and email flow.

What does your order-status page say?

Payment is being checked

This is not confirmation that payment failed. If you have already paid or are unsure, keep your reference and contact us before another attempt.

  1. Reopen the status link you received after checkout and refresh it once. Do not start a new checkout to check the old order.
  2. If you only have a bank notification or payment receipt, keep it for your records. Contact support with the purchase time and reference so we can check the recorded payment.
Payment received; eSIM being prepared

The installation details are still being prepared for your checkout email address. Processing time can vary. If your departure is approaching, tell support your departure time; we cannot guarantee completion before boarding.

  1. Keep the existing order link and check the checkout mailbox. A working internet connection cannot speed up order preparation.
  2. If you need help before departure, include the departure date, time and time zone. Keep an alternative way to get online for arrival; do not rely on an unconfirmed delivery deadline.
Email on its way or delivery confirmed

Check all folders in the checkout mailbox. A delivery confirmation is an email-service status, not proof that you have read the message or installed the eSIM. If it is missing, contact support with the status you see.

  1. Search both installation subjects below in the checkout mailbox, including spam and archive. If you use several mailboxes, check which address you actually entered.
  2. If the email is still absent, tell support the displayed status and when you last checked. Refreshing the order page cannot resend it; do not buy the same plan again just to get another email.
Further processing needed, or status unavailable

For further processing, contact support rather than placing a duplicate order. If the page cannot load, refresh shortly and contact us if that continues. A loading problem alone does not establish your payment or delivery outcome.

  1. If further processing is shown, contact us with that exact message. Do not repeatedly pay or delete an installed eSIM to fix email delivery.
  2. If the status page is unavailable, try again on a working connection. If that fails, use your existing purchase details to request help; a page error does not confirm cancellation or refund.
Check the recorded order status
Reopen the private order-status link shown after checkout and use Refresh status. It reports payment and delivery progress; it does not display your installation codes. Refreshing reads the latest recorded status — it does not send another email.
I entered the wrong email address or cannot open that mailbox

Contact support from an address you can access. Include the address entered at checkout, the reachable address you want us to use and your order reference or approximate purchase time. Explain whether it is a typo or a mailbox-access problem.

We must review the request before changing delivery details. This page cannot edit an order, verify your identity or promise an immediate resend. Do not publish the private order link or installation codes.

Order reference (if available): Email used at checkout: Approximate purchase date and time: Selected plan: Latest order-status message (if known): Possible email typo or mailbox access problem: Reachable reply address, if different: Departure time, if urgent:

Before you send

  1. Open a mailbox you can access and start a new message. Paste the recipient and subject. If possible, use the address entered at checkout.
  2. Paste the checklist and add the details you know. If you cannot access the checkout mailbox, include that address and a reachable reply address. With no order reference, give the approximate purchase time and selected plan.
  3. Remove card details, passwords, verification codes and private activation details from any attachments. Check the recipient, then send from your mailbox. Check Sent; Drafts or Outbox may still be unsent.

Sending needs internet. This page cannot confirm receipt, change an order or resend an eSIM. If your mailbox reports a sending error, resolve it with your email provider or use another reachable mailbox. Keep your existing order; do not pay again just to obtain the missing email.

I closed checkout or cannot find the status link
Do not guess an order link or post a private link publicly. Contact us from the email address used at checkout where possible. If you have no reference, give the approximate purchase date and selected plan; we will need to review the purchase.
Found the details? Install on this phone →
Should I pay again if I only received a payment receipt?
No — do not place another order just because the installation email is missing. Check the checkout mailbox and recorded order status, then contact OrientPass with your reference if you still need help.
Can I get the eSIM QR code from the order-status page?
The current OrientPass order-status page shows payment and delivery progress, not installation codes. Installation details are sent to the checkout email address. Contact support if that email is missing or inaccessible.
Can I change the delivery email address on this help page?
No. If the address is wrong or inaccessible, contact OrientPass with the checkout address, a reachable address and your order reference if available. We need to review the request before changing delivery details. Do not place a duplicate order to correct an email address.
How can I search for my installation email in Gmail or Outlook?
Try both installation subjects shown in this guide. In Gmail, use the provided in:anywhere searches to include Spam and Trash. In Outlook for Windows, widen the search scope and check Junk Email and Deleted Items separately. If nothing appears, contact support about the existing order before paying again.

Only one phone? You can still install your eSIM.

Yes. Use the iPhone installation link or enter the emailed details manually on a compatible, unlocked phone. You need reliable internet, but not necessarily another screen.

Use the phone that will take the eSIM. Open the installation email, not just the payment receipt, and connect to reliable Wi-Fi. Check the plan’s activation rule first.

Which instructions fit your phone?

On iPhone, try the link in your installation email first. If it does not open setup, use the manual instructions. For Samsung and Pixel, use the full Android code from the same email.

iPhone · open the installation link

For compatible iPhones on iOS 17.4 or later.

  1. Open the iPhone installation link in your OrientPass email on this iPhone.
  2. Allow the setup prompt and follow the on-screen steps.
  3. If the link does not open setup, use the manual iPhone method below.
iPhone · enter details manually

Use the two separate iPhone fields in your installation email.

  1. In Settings, open Cellular / Mobile Data → Add eSIM, then choose manual entry on the QR screen.
  2. Copy the SM-DP+ address into the address field and the activation code into its own field. Do not paste the full Android code into either.
  3. Follow the prompts. If details are missing, contact support instead of guessing.
Samsung Galaxy · enter the full code

For an eSIM-compatible Galaxy. Menu names vary by model and software.

  1. Open Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM → Scan QR code → Enter activation code.
  2. Paste the full Android activation code from your email, including LPA:1 and all separators. This is different from the separate iPhone fields.
  3. Continue through setup. Keep the existing home SIM; you are adding a travel line.
Google Pixel · install without scanning your screen

On an eSIM-compatible, unlocked Pixel, use the full Android code in your OrientPass installation email. Stay connected to reliable Wi-Fi. Menu wording varies by Android version.

  1. Open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM → Set up an eSIM. Older versions may offer Download a SIM instead. You are adding a travel line, not transferring your home number.
  2. On the QR scanner, look for Need help? → Enter it manually, or the manual-entry option shown on your version. Paste the complete Android activation code from your email, including LPA:1 and its separators. Do not substitute an APN, order number or phone PIN.
  3. Finish the prompts, then return to SIMs and check that the new profile is listed. Keep your home SIM. Before departure, keep your home line selected for data; at a covered destination choose the travel line and follow its roaming instructions.
QR code · optional second screen

If your email contains a QR code, a second screen is another option.

  1. Display the private QR code on a trusted second device and scan it with the phone that will use the eSIM.
  2. On iOS 17.4 or later, you can instead touch and hold the QR in the default email app or browser and choose Add eSIM. If unavailable, use manual entry.
  3. Never upload the QR or activation code to a public QR-reading website.

Finished? Check that the new line appears in your SIM settings and label it “Travel”. A saved profile does not prove you have mobile data; test that at your covered destination.

If you cannot finish installation

No “Add eSIM” option

Check your exact model, regional version and carrier lock in the compatibility guide before buying another plan.

Check compatibility →
Code rejected or “already used”

First check whether the travel line already appears in SIM settings. Keep it if present. If absent, contact support with your order reference, phone model and exact error. Do not delete a profile or try the code on another phone.

One-phone installation questions

Can I install an eSIM when the QR code is on the same phone?
Yes, on a compatible phone you can use the installation link or manual details from your email. OrientPass supplies separate iPhone fields and a full Android activation code. Use the method supported by your phone; a second screen is optional and installation still needs internet.
Can I scan the same eSIM onto my partner’s phone?
Do not assume one installation code works on two phones or can be moved after installation. Install on the device you intend to use. To connect a companion, check the selected plan’s hotspot support or choose a separate eSIM for their compatible phone.
What if my Pixel does not show manual eSIM entry?
Check the instructions for your exact model and Android version first. If possible, show the private QR on a trusted second screen and scan it with your travel phone. If the option is still unclear or the code is rejected, check the existing SIMs and contact us with your model and error message. Do not delete a profile or test the code on another phone.

What happened during installation?

Choose the situation on your phone to see the next steps. Keep any saved eSIM profile while you check. If you already paid, resolve that order before buying another plan.

My iPhone still says “Activating”. What now?Check your location and the saved travel line first.

Before you reach the plan’s coverage area, “Activating” can mean the travel line is waiting for a supported network. Check whether the eSIM is saved. The message alone proves neither a failed purchase nor a working connection.

Do not delete the eSIM or buy another package just to clear this message. Keep your installation email. If the line is missing, use the installation-error steps instead.

Where are you now?

I have not reached mainland China
  1. Open Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data and identify the travel line. A generic label or no phone number is possible for a data-only eSIM. If you cannot identify it, use the line-identification guide below.
  2. For a mainland-China-only plan, your home country and a Hong Kong stopover are outside its coverage. Keep your usual working data connection before departure; follow the arrival settings once you reach covered mainland China.
Identify the saved travel line →
I am already in the covered destination
  1. Enable the saved travel eSIM, select it for mobile data and follow its roaming instructions. Check the home line separately to avoid unintended roaming. Briefly switch Wi-Fi off and try two different websites.
  2. If neither website loads, use the connection guide. If the line remains stuck, Apple suggests switching that line off and back on or restarting the phone. Recheck after each step; do not repeatedly rescan the QR code.
Check the connection after arrival →
The travel line is missing or the code is rejected →

Tell support your phone model, current country and exact message; keep installation codes private. There is no fixed activation-time promise here. If the problem continues in a covered area, get help instead of waiting indefinitely.

Still stuck? Prepare a support request →
Before buying: check coverage and activation terms

The current plan details below show coverage and when validity starts. An iPhone status message does not establish the start or expiry of your package. Resolve an existing order first; another purchase does not repair its installation.

Why these steps?

Airalo and Nomad also distinguish installation from connecting at the destination. Their app buttons and APN settings are provider-specific. Use the instructions supplied for your OrientPass plan.

My eSIM QR code will not scan. What should I try?No scan response, a rejected code and an installed line need different next steps.

First check whether the travel eSIM is already in your SIM list. If it is absent and scanning does nothing, use a clear copy of your installation QR code or the manual details in your OrientPass email.

  1. Open the installation code

Use your installation email, not a payment receipt. On another screen or a printout, show the whole QR code clearly. Use your phone’s Add eSIM / Use QR Code option. Keep the code private; do not upload it to a QR-decoder website.

  2. Check the internet connection

Open a webpage on the Wi-Fi or hotspot you are using. Complete any guest-login page first. Reading the image and downloading the eSIM profile are separate steps.

  3. Still no response, or only one phone?

Use the manual installation instructions linked here with your own order’s details. This is another way to install the same profile; it does not renew a used code or transfer an installed eSIM to another phone.

What appears next?

Manual setup also failed? Prepare a support request →
My code was rejected or says “already used”Check whether the profile is already installed before trying again.

eSIM code rejected? Check the installed line first.

A rejected code does not necessarily mean your purchase failed. Check whether the travel eSIM is already saved on this phone. Keep existing profiles, use a stable internet connection and contact us before deleting anything or buying again.

First: open your phone’s SIM settings

iPhone

Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data. Look through the listed SIMs, including inactive lines. The travel line may have a generic label rather than “OrientPass”.

Samsung Galaxy

Settings → Connections → SIM manager. Look for an added eSIM. Menu names vary by model and software; use your manufacturer’s instructions if yours differs.

Which situation matches your phone?

First open SIM settings on the phone where you tried to install the eSIM. Then choose what you see. If you cannot identify a line, choose “I am not sure”.

The travel eSIM is listed

Keep the saved profile. Adding it again is not the next step.

  1. If several lines are listed, do not guess which one to remove. Use your installation email to identify the travel line, or ask support to help. A data-only eSIM may have no phone number.
  2. Check the plan’s coverage. A China-only eSIM is not expected to connect while you are still at home in Germany, Austria or Switzerland. Installation and a working network connection are separate checks.
  3. At a covered destination, select the travel line for data and follow its roaming instructions. If it has no signal or internet there, use the connection guide.
Check an installed eSIM’s connection →Send the details that help us investigate →Choose a different situation ↑
No travel eSIM is listed

Check the installation connection and the details you received.

  1. Open a website on the Wi-Fi or hotspot you are using. If it shows a guest-login page, complete that first. An internet connection is needed to download the eSIM profile.
  2. Check compatibility and carrier lock. Restart the phone and check the SIM list again. If the profile is still absent, follow the manual method above using the details in your own installation email.
  3. On iPhone, use the separate SM-DP+ address and activation-code fields. On a compatible Galaxy, use the full Android code. If the same error persists, stop retrying and send us the exact message.

I deleted it or tried another phone

Contact us before another installation attempt.

  1. Keep any remaining travel and home-line profiles. Do not factory-reset the phone or delete your usual eSIM to try to fix this.
  2. Our supplier describes installation as tied to one device. Do not assume the same QR code can move an installed eSIM to another phone, or that a deleted profile can be restored.
  3. Tell us which phone was used first and whether a profile was deleted. We need to check your order before advising the next step; this is not a promise of a replacement or refund.
Deleted your travel eSIM? Find the next step →Send the details that help us investigate →Choose a different situation ↑
I am not sure which line is the travel eSIM

Keep all profiles saved and identify the line first.

  1. A generic label or missing phone number is not enough to identify the travel eSIM. Compare the details with your installation email; do not rename a line by guessing.
  2. Use the line-identification guide below. If you still cannot identify the travel line, keep your previously working settings and ask support.
  3. Include the exact phone model, error message and whether you already deleted a profile or used another phone. Cover QR codes, activation codes and unrelated personal details in screenshots.

I cannot tell which SIM is my travel eSIMIdentify the right line, then give it a useful name.

Which SIM is my China travel eSIM?

The travel eSIM may have a generic name, not “OrientPass”. Confirm the profile before renaming it. A missing phone number does not by itself mean installation failed: our travel plans provide data, not a new number.

  1. 1. Before installing: note your existing lines

While on Wi-Fi, check your SIM list and keep a private note of the lines already there. Install one travel eSIM at a time. When setup shows the newly added plan, give that confirmed line a distinct label.

  2. 2. Already installed and unsure?

Do not choose by list position, signal bars or the word “Travel” alone. Keep existing profiles. Contact us with your order number, phone model and what you see; we can check the order before recommending the next step. Our installation email does not currently include an ICCID comparison field.

Example labels you choose yourself

Home · my usual number

Your existing carrier handles calls and SMS; its roaming terms still apply.

OrientPass China · travel data

A reminder for the confirmed travel profile. The name itself is not verification.

iPhone: name the confirmed travel line
  1. Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data → the confirmed travel line → Cellular Plan Label. Enter a custom label such as “OrientPass China”. Menu wording can vary.
  2. Return to the SIM list and check the new label. Renaming is separate from choosing the mobile-data line; it does not create coverage, add data or prove the plan is active.
Samsung Galaxy: name the confirmed travel line
  1. Settings → Connections → SIM manager → the confirmed travel eSIM → Name. Enter “OrientPass China” and save. Available menus depend on your model and software.
  2. If Name is missing or the profile is still ambiguous, use your device’s help or contact us. Do not enable roaming or delete another SIM just to make a label appear.

At the covered destination, choose the confirmed travel line for mobile data and follow its roaming instructions. For a China-only plan, no service at home is not a valid connection test.

I switched off or deleted my travel eSIMCheck the difference and whether the original phone is available.

I deleted my China eSIM. Can I get it back?

Recovery may be possible on the original phone, but it needs an order-specific check. First confirm whether you switched the line off or erased it. Keep your original installation details and contact OrientPass before buying again.

Keep a working Wi-Fi connection or another connection you are allowed to use. Do not turn on your home SIM’s roaming as an unpriced fallback; check your carrier’s China charges first.

The line is still listed, but switched off
  1. Open the travel line in SIM settings. On iPhone, look for Turn On This Line; on Pixel, Use SIM. On other phones, check the SIM manager. Menu names vary.
  2. If you are in the plan’s covered destination and still within its validity, enable that travel line, choose it for mobile data and follow its roaming instructions. A saved profile does not prove you have data left.
Check the connection →
I erased it from the original phone
  1. Keep that phone and the original installation email. Tell support whether the eSIM ever connected, when you removed it and the exact message from any later attempt. Do not share the QR code publicly.
  2. Our supplier describes reinstallation using the original QR code, but its support guidance also identifies cases that need a new eSIM. We must check your order before recommending a retry. Do not repeatedly scan the code or factory-reset the phone.
  3. If support confirms a retry is suitable, use the original phone with stable internet and the original installation details. If it is rejected again, keep the error message and return to support; a code alone is not a recovery guarantee.
Prepare my support request →
The old phone is broken, lost or being replaced
  1. Reinstalling on the original phone and moving an eSIM to a different phone are different operations. Do not assume Apple Quick Transfer or a manufacturer’s transfer tool supports this travel plan.
  2. Tell support that the original device is unavailable and whether it had already used the eSIM. Do not erase a remaining working profile to try the same code on a second phone. A transfer or replacement is not promised.
Ask about my existing order →

OrientPass has no self-service recovery button. Support must check the order; neither a free replacement nor a refund is guaranteed by these steps.

Do I need another plan?

A rejected QR code alone is not a reason to pay twice. If your plan has expired, its data is exhausted, or you separately need a connection on another compatible phone, compare the current China plans. A new purchase is a separate order; it does not restore the old profile or move its remaining data.

Compare current China plans →

My phone asks for a SIM PIN or PUK

Stop if you do not know the code. Check which SIM or eSIM is asking, then use that line’s provider for help. Buying more travel data does not unlock your existing SIM.

Before departure, check how to access your home provider’s official account or support over Wi-Fi. Keep SIM documents private and accessible without relying only on SMS to the same number.

First, read the exact message

SIM PIN or PUK
This concerns a particular SIM or eSIM. A restart can bring back a SIM PIN prompt. Do not guess: incorrect attempts can block the line.
Screen passcode or carrier lock
The phone’s screen passcode is separate. A carrier lock restricts use of other providers; a PUK does not remove that restriction. Use the phone compatibility guidance if that is the message you see.
Check the phone and carrier lock →

Which line is affected?

Read the line label or provider shown in the prompt. If you can open iPhone Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data, inspect the relevant line. A travel profile may have a different name from OrientPass. If you cannot identify it, stop and ask for help.

Does “code already used” mean I need to buy another eSIM?
Not necessarily. Check the SIM list on the phone you used for installation. If the travel eSIM is already listed, keep it and check coverage and connection settings. If you cannot identify a line confidently, keep all profiles and use the line-identification guide first.

Before you reach the plan’s coverage area, “Activating” can mean the travel line is waiting for a supported network. Check whether the eSIM is saved. The message alone proves neither a failed purchase nor a working connection.
Will buying a China data eSIM unlock my SIM PIN or PUK?
No. The lock belongs to the affected SIM or eSIM. Contact its issuing provider; for an OrientPass order, contact OrientPass before buying again. A new data plan does not recover your usual phone number or its SMS.

Current catalog rules · reviewed 21 October 2026

5 GB / 10 GB · 30 days
Validity starts with the first connection to a supported network in the covered destination. Install before travel using a stable internet connection.
Unused activation window: 180 days

These current catalog rules do not replace the terms of an earlier order. Use your installation email for your purchased quota, activation deadline, APN and expiry. Ask support if unclear.

For a regional plan, a covered home country or stopover can trigger activation. Check the exact coverage list before enabling the travel line. An internet exit country is not a coverage promise.

Before you fly. When you land.

A little preparation now makes arrival simpler.

1. Check your exact phone
Confirm that your phone supports eSIM and is carrier-unlocked. Regional versions of the same model can differ.

2. Install while you have internet
Open your OrientPass installation email on a stable connection. Use the iPhone installation link on a supported device, or follow the manual instructions for your phone.

3. Save the essentials offline
Save the installation instructions, order reference, support email and your hotel address on your phone. Keep activation codes and QR codes private. A QR image alone is not a completed installation.

4. Keep your number, choose your data line
If you need texts on your home number, keep that line enabled. Turn off its data roaming and check automatic data switching. Calls and texts may still incur charges from your home provider.

5. Select OrientPass when you arrive
In a destination covered by your plan, enable the travel eSIM, select it for mobile data and turn on roaming for that line. Follow the activation rule shown for your plan.

6. Use the instructions for your order
If your installation email lists an APN, use that exact value when required. If you need an APN but none is listed, contact support rather than copying one from another plan.

7. Need help? Keep your eSIM installed
Do not delete the eSIM or place a duplicate order as your first troubleshooting step. Contact us with your order reference, phone model, destination and error message. Hide activation codes in any screenshots.

Check the plan’s activation rule first.

iPhone · open the installation link

No “Add eSIM” option
Check your exact model, regional version and carrier lock in the compatibility guide before buying another plan.

Code rejected or “already used”
First check whether the travel line already appears in SIM settings. Keep it if present. If absent, contact support with your order reference, phone model and exact error. Do not delete a profile or try the code on another phone.

China eSIM installed, but no internet?

Open the check that matches your travel line. When the result changes, use the next-step links inside that check. Keep the eSIM installed; signal bars may belong to your home SIM.

Keep your eSIM installed. Contact us before deleting it or buying another plan to fix a connection problem.

Start with what your travel line shows

No signal

No Service, SOS or Searching on the travel line.

  1. Check your plan’s coverage against your current location. If you have not arrived in a covered destination, this does not mean your eSIM is faulty. A Hong Kong data route does not itself include coverage in Hong Kong.
  2. Make sure the travel eSIM line is enabled in your phone’s SIM settings. Your phone may show signal for your home SIM even when the travel line has no service.
  3. On iPhone, turn Airplane Mode on for at least 15 seconds, then off. Restart your phone if needed. Initial registration may take time; if the travel line still has no network in a covered destination, contact us.

After these checks

If the travel line now has reception but pages still do not load, choose “Signal, but no internet” above. If it still has no service in a covered destination, send us the location and error shown.

What happens now?

Prepare your support request →
Signal, but no internet

The travel line has reception, but websites will not load.

  1. Select OrientPass for mobile data and enable data roaming on the travel eSIM, following your installation instructions. Turn Wi-Fi off briefly to check the mobile connection.
  2. Check your order’s validity and data allowance. Contact us to confirm the remaining balance if needed; your phone’s usage counter is not the authoritative plan balance, and supplier usage reports may be delayed.
  3. If your installation email lists an APN, use that exact value. If it does not, ask us for the correct settings for your order. Do not copy an APN from another destination or plan. Only select a network manually if it is supported by your plan or we direct you to it.

After these checks

With Wi-Fi off, try two different websites. If both load, mobile data is working at that moment. If only one app fails, choose the app-specific check above. If nothing loads, contact us with the checks you tried.

What happens now?

Open the order-specific APN help →
Only one app is not working

Other websites load using the travel eSIM.

  1. Try another website with Wi-Fi off and OrientPass selected for mobile data. If other pages load, one app failing does not by itself mean the eSIM installation failed.
  2. If the app only works on Wi-Fi, check its mobile-data permission below. Start with the affected app without deleting your eSIM.
  3. Check the app’s sign-in, registration or verification requirements. Mobile data does not supply a local phone number or guarantee access to every service. Tell us which app fails and what error it shows.

An app works on Wi-Fi, but not with my eSIM

If other websites load on the travel eSIM, check whether that app is allowed to use mobile data. A Wi-Fi-only setting can stop it connecting. Changing this setting does not guarantee access or fix account restrictions.

Before testing, confirm the travel eSIM is your mobile data line and follow its roaming instructions. Keep home-line roaming and automatic data switching off. Change only the affected app; allowing mobile data can use more of your plan.

Check your phone’s app setting

iPhone: allow mobile data for this app
  1. Open Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data, then scroll to the app list. Labels vary with your iOS version.
  2. Find the affected app. If its mobile-data switch is off, turn it on only if you want that app to use mobile data. This permission does not choose which SIM supplies the data.
Samsung Galaxy: check allowed networks
  1. If available, open Settings → Connections → Data usage → Allowed networks for apps, then select the affected app.
  2. If it is set to Wi-Fi only, choose Mobile data or Wi-Fi to allow both. You do not need Mobile data preferred for this check. Names and availability vary by model, software and carrier.

No matching setting, or a managed phone? Use the manufacturer’s help for your exact model or ask your device administrator. Do not remove management profiles or change unrelated permissions to find the switch.

Check what changed

Briefly turn Wi-Fi off, reopen the app and try a small action that needs fresh internet, such as refreshing its content. Try another website too. If nothing loads, return to the no-internet checks. Restore Wi-Fi when finished if you need it.

If only this app still fails, note its error and check its account or regional requirements. Keep the eSIM installed. A larger data plan does not remove an app restriction.

App permissions do not add data, extend validity or confirm that a particular app will work. Choose a plan for your covered destinations, trip length and expected use.

Still choosing travel data? Compare current plans →

After these checks

Tell us which service fails, whether other websites load on mobile data, and the exact error. Do not buy a larger data plan solely to fix an app’s regional restriction or account verification.

What happens now?

Tell support which app fails →
Internet works, but only 4G / LTE

You can browse over the travel eSIM. Now check whether 5G is available for your plan and device.

  1. Check the network information in your order. A phone that supports eSIM does not necessarily support 5G. A 5G-capable phone still needs a suitable plan and local 5G coverage; another traveller’s 5G symbol does not establish what your own plan can use.
  2. On iPhone, open Settings → Mobile Data / Cellular, choose the travel line, then Voice & Data (sometimes under Mobile Data Options). If offered, 5G Auto allows the phone to use LTE when 5G brings little benefit. LTE mode restricts it to LTE. Menu names vary by iOS version.
  3. On iPhone 12 and 13, Low Power Mode can disable 5G except for some activities. You do not need to turn it off merely to keep a working LTE connection. For other phones, check the manufacturer’s instructions for your exact model rather than copying iPhone menus.
  4. If your data connection is usable, keep using it. If it is too slow for your task, try another location when practical and contact us with your phone model, location and order number. Neither a 5G label nor switching to 5G On guarantees a particular speed.

After these checks

Keep the installed eSIM. Do not buy another data package solely to change the network icon. If websites stop loading, choose “Signal, but no internet” above; that needs a data-connection check, even when the phone shows 5G.

What happens now?

Check 4G / 5G and the current plan networks →
Still in Europe? Check this before changing settings

A mainland-China-only plan does not provide mobile data in Europe. Check that the profile appears in your SIM settings, keep using your usual connection before departure, and follow your plan’s activation rule. No travel-line signal before arrival alone is not a fault.

Open a setting only when your check calls for it

Start with the symptom above. APN instructions are for a data connection that still fails; a working 4G connection needs a different check.

Internet works: understand 4G / LTE and 5G

In China, but only seeing 4G or LTE?

Your eSIM can still be working. First select the travel eSIM for mobile data, turn off Wi-Fi briefly and open two different websites. If they load, you have a working data connection at that moment. A 5G icon alone does not prove that internet access works.

Check the network for the plan you choose

These are the current network details for the China plans below. 5G availability also depends on your phone, settings and local coverage. An existing order may have different details: check its confirmation or ask us.

  • 5 GB · China Mobile 5G
  • 10 GB · China Mobile 5G
View these plans and their full details →

For the settings check, choose “Internet works, but only 4G / LTE” above.

Signal but no data: find the APN instructions for your order

What should I enter as the APN for my China eSIM?

Use only the APN supplied for your OrientPass eSIM. If mobile data already works, leave it alone. If no APN is listed and you cannot connect, ask us before changing settings.

An APN is a mobile data setting. It is not your QR code, SM-DP+ address or activation code. Do not paste installation details into this field. Keep your home SIM settings unchanged.

iPhone: find the APN field
  1. Open Settings → Mobile Service / Cellular → your travel eSIM → Mobile Data Network / Cellular Data Network. Labels vary by iOS version and language.
  2. If this menu is available, compare the APN with the value supplied for this eSIM. Only change it when your installation instructions or our support direct you to; iPhone saves edits automatically.
Samsung Galaxy: find the APN field
  1. Open Settings → Connections → Mobile networks → Access Point Names. If a SIM selector appears, choose your travel eSIM. Check that you are viewing the travel line before editing.
  2. Open its access point and compare the APN with your installation instructions. If a change or a new entry is needed, follow the settings supplied for your order; do not guess extra fields. Menus vary by model and Android version.

No APN in the email, or the field is missing or locked?

Do not copy a value from a forum or another eSIM. Use Wi-Fi to contact us with your order number, phone model and a description of the missing menu or setting. We can check the instructions for your eSIM; a missing field alone does not mean the eSIM is broken.

After checking: test the travel line

In your covered destination, select the travel eSIM for mobile data and use its instructed roaming setting. Turn Wi-Fi off briefly and open a webpage, then restore Wi-Fi if it still fails. Keep the eSIM installed and continue the symptom checks above.

Continue connection checks →

Keeping a European number for SMS? Leave that line enabled, select OrientPass for data and check your home operator’s roaming charges. Disabling data roaming does not make calls or SMS automatically free.

Still offline after the checks? Send us the symptoms.

Tell us whether there is no signal, all apps are offline or only one app fails. The blank email checklist below helps you describe the problem without sending your installation code.

Use trusted Wi-Fi to send your email. Keep the eSIM installed; do not buy another plan just to troubleshoot. Leave anything you cannot find blank.

Quick answers before you change anything

Should I delete and reinstall an eSIM that has no internet?

Keep it installed and contact OrientPass first. Reinstallation depends on the eSIM profile and is not guaranteed. A signal or data problem does not by itself mean the installation failed.

Which SIM needs data roaming in China?

Enable data roaming on the travel eSIM as instructed and select it for mobile data. This does not mean enabling data roaming on your home SIM. Check your home operator’s call and SMS charges separately.

Can I copy an APN from another China eSIM?

No. Use the exact APN in your installation email if provided. If it is missing or you cannot edit it, contact OrientPass for your order’s settings. Do not replace it with another provider’s example.

Does 4G or LTE mean my China eSIM is broken?

No. If websites load with Wi-Fi off and the travel eSIM selected for data, the connection is working at that moment. The network type depends on your plan, device, settings and local coverage. Do not delete the eSIM or buy another package only because the icon is not 5G.

Will a bigger data package give me 5G?

More gigabytes describe a data allowance, not a guaranteed network speed. Check the network listed for that specific plan. Even a plan supporting 5G can use 4G or LTE depending on the device, settings and coverage.

Is my eSIM activation code also my APN?

No. The activation code and SM-DP+ address install your eSIM; the APN is a separate mobile data setting. Use an APN only as instructed for your eSIM. If none is supplied and data does not work, contact us instead of copying installation codes into the APN field.

The signal is back, but there is still no internet. What next?

Open “Signal, but no internet” and check the travel data line, roaming, allowance and order-specific APN. If other websites then work and only one app fails, continue to the app check. Keep the installed eSIM; a change in symptoms is not a reason to buy again.

What should I send if my eSIM still will not connect?

Send your order reference if available, phone model and OS version, country and city, time of the problem and whether you have no signal, all apps are offline or only one app fails. Add the data-line and roaming settings and checks already tried. Hide activation and QR codes in screenshots. The checklist only prepares an email; you send it from your own mailbox.

An app works on Wi-Fi, but not with my eSIM

If other websites load on the travel eSIM, check whether that app is allowed to use mobile data. A Wi-Fi-only setting can stop it connecting. Changing this setting does not guarantee access or fix account restrictions.
