Not automatically. Switzerland is outside the EU/EEA roaming area, but your provider may include it voluntarily. Confirm Switzerland in your exact tariff and check the remaining data before buying another eSIM.
You may not need an extra travel eSIM. Keep the confirmation and follow your provider’s roaming settings. Monitor usage during the trip; recheck before buying data you already have.
Compare your provider’s extra-data option with the current country plans below. Check phone compatibility first. If you choose an OrientPass eSIM, select it for mobile data and disable automatic mobile-data switching; keep home-line data roaming off to avoid unintended home data use.
Ask your provider: “Is this destination included in my exact tariff? How many GB remain for these dates? What happens when they run out?” If data does not work on arrival, use Wi-Fi to check the selected line, roaming permission and allowance with that provider. Do not buy a replacement just because one setting is wrong.
These are provider examples, not rules for every operator. Choose by where your mobile contract is issued, not by your nationality.
Telekom says many current tariffs treat Switzerland like an EU destination. This is a provider inclusion, not an automatic EU entitlement. Confirm your exact tariff, available Switzerland data and fair-use terms; other German operators may differ.
A1 lists Switzerland among destinations for additional roaming options, including a Switzerland-specific package. Check your own tariff, active options and validity in Mein A1. An EU allowance alone does not establish Swiss coverage, and listed options are not automatically included.
With a Swisscom home contract, using your own line in Switzerland is domestic use. Check its included data or prepaid balance before buying a travel eSIM. Cockpit supports balance checks and additional domestic packages; another Swiss operator may have different terms.
The OrientPass Switzerland plans below provide data only, with no local phone number or SMS. They cover Switzerland, not neighbouring France, Germany, Italy or Austria. Their France/Netherlands/UK internet exit describes data routing, not extra country coverage. Calls, SMS and active passes on your home line keep that provider’s terms.
Buying another eSIM does not cancel an active home-provider pass or reverse charges already incurred. If you choose a Swiss data eSIM, follow its activation instructions and select it for mobile data. An EU-only eSIM should not be assumed to work in Switzerland.
Reviewed 2026-10-20: EU roaming scope, separate Telekom Germany, A1 Austria and Swisscom Switzerland pages, plus Airalo and Nomad Swiss country/regional choices. Exact OrientPass Swiss supplier coverage and activation checked; no network field test. Your own provider confirms your contract.
Check whether your home plan already covers Switzerland. If you need extra data, use a known period from your phone counter, add any extra hotspot use, and compare the estimate with current Swiss allowances and your trip length.
Check my home plan before buying ↑These Swiss-only packages have a total allowance for 30 days, not a fresh allowance each day. Neighbouring countries are not included. A 50 GB package has more data, not more days; an internet exit abroad does not add coverage.
On iPhone, open Settings → Cellular / Mobile Data, select the data line and check the period since statistics were reset. On Pixel, open Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → App data usage and choose a period. Menu names vary; do not assume a counter covers the last month.
If you cannot identify the period, do not treat the number as a daily average. Use a known period from your home provider or record a new one. Travel video, backups and laptop use may differ from home.
Copy the number and unit from your counter. Switching between MB and GB does not automatically convert the number you entered.
Add only laptop or companion use not already counted in your measured mobile data. Choose its unit and whether the figure is per travel day or for the whole trip. 0 means no extra use; this selection does not turn a total allowance into a daily plan.
This optional reserve is an estimate, not a guarantee that the allowance will last.
Enter a known usage period and trip length. No plan is selected until there is a valid estimate.
First convert MB to GB: this planning tool uses 1 GB = 1,024 MB. Own use = measured GB ÷ measured days × trip days. Daily extra data are multiplied by trip days; a whole-trip total is added once. The optional reserve is 20% of that sum. This is not a billing rule or live balance.
This calculator keeps entries only in this page’s memory. It does not save or send the values automatically; reloading clears them.
Check the selected travel line’s usage against your own order’s allowance and start date; the phone counter may differ from the provider’s figure. Pause large uploads and hotspot sharing, save media over reliable Wi-Fi, and use Wi-Fi to contact support if needed. Do not delete the installed eSIM to restore data. A new purchase has its own installation and validity; automatic top-up or transfer of unused data is not promised.
Reviewed 21 October 2026. Phone instructions come from the manufacturers; the reserve is an OrientPass planning choice. Current product details come from our supplier catalog, not from competitor claims.
